MOFD Formation Vote
On the June 1997 ballot, the residents of Orinda and the residents of Moraga were each asked if they wanted to form a partnership to provide emergency services (fire protection, emergency medical response, and all of the other things a fire department does). There were two separate measures: One for Orinda which at the time was receiving service from the County (ConFire) and a separate one for Moraga which was receiving service from its own fire district, the Moraga Fire Protection District.
